I was at an antique tractor Show this weekend and they had a Tractor Pull which looked like fun. Has anyone seen or had their CJ2A give it a try? After all, they were designed for use on the farm....

Bill
The purists on the 2a page were just talking about that the other day! Not a chance they say. I remember back in 68 when I had a brand new cj6, Bob Marsden and I were in Denver Colorado for a ralley, and they talked Bob and I into a tug-o-war between his v8 bronco and my v6 cj6. We never broke anything, because they were both new, and it ended in a draw. We just sat there and dug holes!!
I think today though, that I too tend to agree with the purists!! Don't need the work to repair the toys!! :(

Hello Bill,
I participated in a Antique Tractor pull for the 1st time last year with my partially restored John Deere "R" and really enjoyed it. I'm going to try to get out to a couple more this year. Regarding a CJ pull, I would doubt that a little jeep could move the sled, or not very far. I thought of trying a jeep but did not want to put it through that. One of the reasons that the farm jeeps were not extremely successful was the weak drive train when working under heavy load. I'd like to see someone braver than me try it. I'm sure that the guys in either of the clubs that I belong too would be happy to let someone try it. Just my $.02 cents worth.

I might be game to try it....... After all, the CJ2A was intended to fill the role of a tractor!! Maybe I can enter it in the garden tractor category

Hi Bill,
I'm sure that the boys at one of the pulls would let you have a go at the sled. You should be able to enter your weight class. You could try a garden tractor pull but the garden tractor guys might be a little bit upset!
Keep us posted.Stu
